Eastern Conference Woman’s Auxiliary Retreat

Faithful women from various churches within the Eastern Conference came together at First Free Will Baptist Church of Kinston for their annual fall retreat, a cherished tradition marked by spiritual renewal, joyful fellowship, and heartfelt worship. This year’s retreat upheld the same cherished atmosphere, providing participants with a powerful experience of community, laughter, singing, and connection with God.

Mrs. Julie Coats from First Free Will Baptist Church extended warm hospitality to all attendees, offering refreshments and snacks as they arrived, creating an inviting and relaxed environment. The women gathered in the church sanctuary, where greetings and smiles were exchanged, setting the tone for the day's spiritual activities. Mrs. Judith Kennedy, President of the Eastern Conference Women’s Auxiliary, presided over the retreat (along with Mrs. Jennifer Smith), seamlessly organizing the proceedings, assigning various roles, and giving direction to standing committees.

The retreat was greatly enriched by the contributions of Mrs. Gail Heath, Director of the Christian Education Ministry, who led the women in two soul-stirring hymns. Her music choices prepared the hearts of the attendees for the day’s spiritual message. Linda Herring, a familiar and trusted speaker for these gatherings, delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking message—“What’s the Chance” (Ecclesiastes 9:11). Her insights and passion for the Word uplifted and challenged all present, leaving a lasting impact on their faith journeys.

The women continued to enjoy the warmth of fellowship during the shared meal that followed. The host church provided a delightful and well-prepared meal of chicken salad, fresh vegetables, fruit, and a delicious assortment of desserts. The meal, shared in a spirit of unity, was a fitting conclusion to a day of worship, growth, and connection among sisters in Christ. This fall retreat once again reminded everyone of the strength and beauty of coming together to seek God’s presence and support one another in their spiritual walk.
